Special Interest Houses

There are five Special Interest Houses that are accepting returning and new applicants. These houses include the Language House, the Green House, the Peace House, the Gaming House, and the Healthy Living house. Four of these houses are accepting first-year students for the fall semester: the Language House, the Healthy Living House, the Peace House and the Green House. There is also the opportunity to create your own Special interest House. You will find all description and guidelines in the menu to the left.

Applications for incoming first year students and transfer students are due by June 21st, 2013 at 5pm EST.

The staff of the Office of Community Living will review and consider each application in collaboration with house leaders.  Applicants will be considered based on their citizenship record, as well as in their interest in the desired learning community.

It is important to note that if the applicant is not fully committed to being an active participant of the desired house, you are strongly encouraged not to apply. Choosing to apply just because you are interested in the physical living space is not appropriate. Failure to meet the requirements set by your learning community will result in a possible relocation from the Special Interest House.

All students that are interested in living in one of the Special Interest Houses, regardless of whether they have previously resided in a particular house, must complete an application each year to be considered as a resident for a particular house.
